Instructions & Ingredients

From the Punjabi region of Northern India, Tikka Masala has a spicy, earthy, and tangy taste. This spice mix can also be used for Butter Chicken, which is milder & creamier due to the addition of sugar and cream.

YOU WILL NEED: 5-6 chopped tomatoes, 2 onions, olive oil, 1/2 cup. plain yogurt, choice of protein. Tikka Spice Mix, Ginger/Garlic Blend, and Fenugreek included.

STEP 1: Make Tomato and Onion Base. Saute 5-6 chopped tomatoes and 2 onions on medium heat for 20 minutes, then blend into a smooth sauce. Alternatively, just use a can of quality chopped tomatoes.

STEP 2: Mix 3 tsp. Tikka Spice Mix with 1/2 c. plain yogurt. Cut protein of choice (meat, paner, veggies, tofu) into 2'' cubes and marinate in Tikka sauce for 20-30 minutes. Cook for 10 mins on hot stove or in oven at 400°F.

STEP 3: In heavy pan, heat 2 tbsp oil or ghee. Add 1 tsp. Ginger/Garlic Blend. Cook for 1 minute, then add Tomato Onion Base and 1 tbsp. Tikka Spice Mix. Cook on med/low for 15 minutes.

STEP 4: When sauce starts to separate, add in the cooked protein, stir to blend, and serve. Top with 1 tsp. dried Fenugreek. Enjoy!
