Instructions & Ingredients

Our Dal Tadka Spice Kit includes spices straight from India, along with lentils to make a delicious dal dish.

YOU WILL NEED: Olive oil, 1 diced onion, 2 diced tomatoes, salt to taste.

STEP 1: Soak 250g (1 1/4 cup) Dal Lentils for 1-2 hours. Drain. Add lentils to 2 cups of water and simmer on stove top with lid on for 1 hour, or if you have an instant po cook for 15 minutes. Set aside in bowl.

STEP 2: In a saucepan, heat 2 tbsp. olive oil or ghee and saute 1 diced onion, 2 diced tomatoes with 1 tsp. salt until golden, about 10 minutes.

STEP 3: Add 2 tbsp. Dal Tadka Spice Mix and stir for a few minutes. Add the precooked Dal and stir until smooth. Add more water to get desired consistency.

STEP 4: Serve garnished with chopped cilantro & ghee.
