The Making of Cantaritos Cups
Cantaritos de barro cups are humble, with a lot of character and history. These traditional, clay cups are staples of street fairs in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Known by locals as “the best way to drink tequila,” the jarritos de barro Mexicanos cups inspired the Mexican Cantaritos cocktail. Their clay material is perfect for maintaining a cocktail’s cold temperature, and the handmade nature evoked memories of generations worth of fun.

Meet the Artisan
Since he was a boy, Rodolfo has been creating Mexican ceramics with the help of his father, who taught him traditional shapes, painting, glazes, and finishes. He studied at the cultural school at El Refugio in Tlaquepaque. Learn more about him here>>

Dimensions and Care
Clay Cantaritos Cups: 5" tall x 3.5" diameter at rim x 2" diameter at base The are traditionally meant to be refilled during the night at street fairs, but are usually treated as disposable. We have finished our cups with a special glaze to reinforce them. With proper care the cups could last for some time, but are easily breakable and not dishwasher-safe.
Hand juicer: 8 x 2.5'' Hand wash with warm soapy water. Not dishwasher-safe.
